Martial law will be lifted after end of hot phase of war - Zelenskyy

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that martial law in Ukraine may be lifted after the end of the hot phase of the war. He said this in an interview with the Economist.

According to him, a ceasefire may be part of the end of active hostilities, but without security guarantees, Ukraine will not take such a step.

"Without security guarantees, a ceasefire is only so that Putin can arrive in two months. No, this is impossible. So, the hot phase of the war will end. If it ends, then martial law will end, for sure," Zelenskyy explained.

The President also recalled that after the lifting of martial law, parliament must hold elections, adopt relevant legislative decisions and announce the date.
