Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk is convinced that Ukraine, as a victim of russian aggression, must determine the terms of the negotiations to end the war.
He said this at a briefing, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"The issue of negotiations is probably an issue on which Ukraine has one clear and understandable position. I voiced it today at our meeting. In this war, russia is the aggressor, Ukraine is the victim, and it is important not to confuse these things in discussions. Therefore, during the negotiations, it is the victim of this war who has the right to determine the terms on which she sees these or those negotiations for peace in the country being held," he said.
Stefanchuk recalled that today he returned from a session of the European Parliament and emphasized that the European Parliament and its leader Roberta Metsola support the position of "no negotiations on Ukraine without Ukraine's position."
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said that Ukraine is ready for negotiations to end the war, the duration and justice of which can only be ensured by the power of the state on the battlefield.
