Russia attacks Kyiv with ballistic missiles: one killed, injured reported, fires recorded

Overnight into February 12, russian troops launched a ballistic strike on Kyiv. Fires, destruction, and one killed were recorded in several districts of the capital.

This was reported by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko.

"As a result of the enemy attack, debris and fires were recorded in the Holosiyivskyi and Podilskyi districts," he reported at 04:45 a.m.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko added that emergency services are also working in the Solomyanskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts.

"In the Solomyanskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts, fires are on the roofs of residential buildings," he noted.

Head of the Presidential Office Andrii Yermak reacted to the attack:

"Russia launched a missile strike on Kyiv and the Kyiv Region, the air defense worked on ballistics. This is how putin wants the war to end."

Consequences of the attack

At 05:02 a.m. Klitschko reported fires in Holosiyivskyi, Podilskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts. An industrial zone caught fire in the Obolonskyi district.

At 05:22 a.m. it became known about the first killed in the Podilskyi district. A fire was also recorded on the territory of a private enterprise in the Darnytskyi district.

At 05:37 a.m. Klitschko clarified that there was one victim in the Podilskyi district, who was hospitalized.

The State Emergency Service reported the following consequences of the shelling:

  • Obolonskyi district - a fire in an office building, one person was killed;
  • Holosiyivskyi district - a large-scale fire in a warehouse with an area of ​​600 square meters;
  • Sviatoshynskyi district - falling debris, no injuries;
  • Solomyanskyi district - fire on the roof of an apartment building.

At 05:50 a.m. Klitschko reported that a 9-year-old girl was injured in the Obolonskyi district - she was hospitalized.

As of 06:04 a.m., the number of injured in Kyiv had increased to three: two were hospitalized, one was treated on the spot.

"One person was killed in the Obolonskyi district," Klitschko confirmed.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, emergency power outages were introduced in Ukraine on the morning of February 11 due to a russian missile attack.
