Defense forces advance near Vovchansk and in Kursk Oblast – ISW

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have recently advanced southeast of Sudzha, in the Kursk Oblast of russia. The Armed Forces of Ukraine were able to improve their positions along the 38K-028 Sudzha-Oboyan highway, in particular southwest of the settlement of Russkaya Konopelka.

This is evidenced by geolocation footage published on February 9. Such data is contained in a new report by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Analysts note that, according to russian sources, the Ukrainian military carried out mechanized attacks near Russkaya Konopelka and Fanaseyevka southeast of Sudzha. In response, russian forces carried out counterattacks northwest of Sudzha near Sverdlikovo and Nikolskyi, north of Sudzha near Malaya Loknya, and southeast of Sudzha near Cherkasskaya Konopelka.

In addition, according to ISW, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have also recently advanced near Vovchansk in the ​​Kharkiv Region. Geolocation footage published on February 8 confirms that Ukrainian troops were able to occupy the territory of the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant, which is located in the central part of the city.

Despite this, russian occupation forces continued offensive operations near Vovchansk on February 8 and 9.

At the same time, russian sources claim that “Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups are active on the outskirts of Lyptsi.”

Recall that Ukraine is launching the Drone Line project, which will radically strengthen brigades and scale up the experience of effectively destroying the enemy.
