During the meeting with Donald Trump, Volodymyr Zelenskyy wants to discuss security guarantees.
The Head of Ukraine said this in an interview with Reuters.
"Security guarantees are the main issue that I want to discuss with President Trump," the President of Ukraine said.
At the same time, Zelenskyy noted that it is important for him to meet with Trump before President Trump talks with russian president vladimir putin.
"It is important for partners to first discuss their issues, and then talk to the enemy," he explained, adding that otherwise Trump's conversation with putin will look like a dialogue about Ukraine without Ukraine.
In turn, Zelenskyy also said that he does not yet know what compromises can be discussed at the negotiating table, but it is important that Ukraine negotiates, and not accept russia's ultimatums.
In addition, Zelenskyy believes that Trump may insist in a conversation with putin that he return the captured Ukrainian territories rich in minerals.
According to the Ukrainian President, although the russians have captured much less than 20% of Ukraine's mineral resources, the occupied deposits are still estimated at hundreds of billions.
"We need to stop putin and protect what we have - the very rich Dnieper, the center of Ukraine," Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged.
