Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau considers the threat of annexation of his country by the United States of America to be real. On the eve, American President Donald Trump repeatedly stated that Canada should become part of the United States.
The American TV channel CNN reported this on February 7.
Trudeau's words were uttered at the Canada-US summit held in Toronto.
"Mr. Trump thinks the easiest way to do this is to absorb our country, and that's a real thing," the channel quotes Trudeau as saying.
According to CNN, Trudeau said these words into an open microphone, thinking that media representatives had been taken out of the hall.
CNN claims that journalists managed to obtain an audio recording of Trudeau's speech, where he says the words given above.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in early December 2024, American media wrote that President Trump, during a meeting with Trudeau, allegedly joked that Canada should become the 51st state of the United States.
Recall, in January of this year, Trump campaigner Joe Rogan proposed annexing not only Canada, but also Mexico. According to him, this is necessary to combat illegal migration.
We also wrote that the Iranian Armed Forces published a message in which they offered Canada assistance in defending against US "aggression".
