The Verkhovna Rada members went to the United States of America to establish ties with the US Congress and Senate.
This was announced by the Speaker of the Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk at the conference "Ukraine's Accession to the EU: Formation of a Transformational Agenda", Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"They (MPs) went there (to the States) in order to systematically work with senators, with members from Congress to establish relations," he said.
The MPs went to the United States at their own expense, Stefanchuk said.
According to him, the majority of the delegation of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe is made up of representatives of the opposition, the rest are representatives of the Servant of the People faction.
"We have a very important task ahead of us, to reset relations with our partner, the United States of America. We do this systematically at all levels, at absolutely all levels, including at the level of restoring our relations with the US Congress and Senate," the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada noted.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized the MPs for their frequent foreign trips, in particular, a trip to the Prayer Breakfast in the US.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukrainian Ambassador to the US Oksana Markarova reported on the social network Facebook that she had her first meeting with Kellogg in his official status as Special Envoy to Ukraine and russia, to which he was appointed by President Trump on February 3. She, in particular, reported that they had a thorough discussion.
