Since the beginning of 2025, Ukrainian border guards have recorded two attempts by enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups to enter Ukraine.
The spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andrii Demchenko, announced this at a briefing, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
According to him, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine continues to record attempts by russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups to enter Ukrainian territory on sections of the border guarded by units of the State Border Guard Service, and on sections where protection is provided by units of other components of the Defense Forces.
At the same time, he noted that currently the activity of russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups is not as high as in 2023 or early 2024, but similar attempts continue to be recorded.
"Currently, cases have been recorded in the direction of Sumy and Kharkiv Regions. In the Chernihiv region, such cases have not been noted this year, but the threat of the sabotage and reconnaissance groups’ action for the Chernihiv Region remains," Demchenko said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in early January, the spokesman for the Siversk operational-tactical group of troops, Vadym Mysnyk, reported that the activity of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups has recently decreased on the northern border of Ukraine.
