The russian military, having suffered significant losses of armored vehicles in Ukraine, has begun to use horses. According to Forbes, the reserves of old equipment were exhausted by the end of 2024, and the production of new ones does not have time to cover the losses.
According to journalists, russian mechanized regiments lose about 6,000 units of armored vehicles each year, while russian factories are able to produce only a few hundred new vehicles.
Such circumstances have forced the russian army to partially return to cavalry, which makes their units vulnerable to Ukrainian artillery.
At the same time, Forbes notes that, despite serious losses, russian troops continue their offensive in areas of the front where Ukraine is experiencing a shortage of personnel.
"World's second army" in all its glory. Rolling back to the times of the Russian Empire - complete with cavalry and drafting representatives of national minorities as cannon fodder.

Recall that the russian army has lost almost 10,000 tanks and over 20,000 armored combat vehicles since the beginning of the war in Ukraine.
In particular, the losses of russian troops on February 3 increased by 1,270 to 842,930 people, and Ukrainian defenders over the past day destroyed 18 tanks, 24 armored combat vehicles, 66 artillery systems and 92 drones.
