Trump talks about "very good, constructive talks" on Ukraine

U.S. President Donald Trump said that Washington is holding talks on Ukraine, which he called "very constructive", and assured that he would do everything possible to stop the war.

He said this at a press conference at the White House with the participation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"We are having very good talks (with the russians and the Ukrainian leadership – ed.), very constructive talks on Ukraine," Trump said.

Trump compared the consequences of russian strikes on Ukrainian cities with the situation in Gaza.

"When you hear the real numbers in Ukraine, what the numbers are, and this doesn't include the cities that have been demolished and all of the people that were killed. So I want to see it stopped," the U.S. President stressed.

He also said that he receives weekly reports on losses in Ukraine, and gave figures of "700,000 soldiers dead" on the Ukrainian side and "800,000 maybe more" on the russian side.

Trump was asked whether he would demand that russian president vladimir putin withdraw troops from the occupied territories of Ukraine, but he did not answer this question.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on February 4, Zelenskyy called for the return of nuclear weapons to Ukraine until the country is accepted into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Zelenskyy also said that he was ready for negotiations with putin on one condition.
