Not a threat, but protection. Ministry of Veterans responds to Duda's words about "danger of crime" from veterans

The Ministry of Veterans disagreed with Polish President Andrzej Duda, who stated about the "threat of increasing crime" from Ukrainian military personnel returning from the front.

This was reported by the press service of the department.

"We cannot agree with the statement of the Polish leader, which presents Ukrainian soldiers as a potential threat. Ukrainian soldiers not only defend our state, but also protect all of Europe from russian aggression," the ministry said in a statement.

They stated that it is incorrect to compare modern Ukraine with russia in the 1990s, when crime increased in the country. The ministry emphasizes that Ukrainian veterans are defenders who defend their land from the invader, and do not pose a threat.

"Ukrainian soldiers and veterans are not a threat, but a guarantor of stability and security of Ukraine, Poland and all of Europe. They are those who risk their lives for peace and freedom, and deserve the highest respect and support," the message says.

However, it was acknowledged that the return of the military to peaceful life will be a challenge for Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Duda expressed concern that after the cessation of hostilities, crime will spread across the border from Ukraine to Poland and will also affect Western Europe.
