About 50,000 servicemen of various branches and types of troops are being transferred to the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is taking place in accordance with the order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi dated January 11. The purpose of the transfer is to replenish combat brigades and launch the rotation mechanism, which is to take place for the first time in three years of a full-scale war.
According to a source of Ukrainian Pravda in the General Staff, this is approximately 20% of all servicemen who are currently directly at the front. The interlocutor notes that the servicemen who are currently undergoing training in training centers are not enough to fully provide the combat component - they are only enough for minimal replenishment of units. Thanks to the transfer of personnel and additional recruiting, the rotation mechanism will be launched, for which the appropriate plan has already been approved.
The source emphasizes that this decision is not related to possible negotiations or freezing of the front line. The General Staff is convinced that the Ukrainian army is capable of conducting rotations even in conditions of active hostilities.
It was previously reported that in 2024-2025, military personnel from the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be massively transferred to the Ground Forces. In particular, by order dated January 11, more than 5,000 servicemen were to be transferred to the infantry.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are doing everything possible to prevent human rights violations during mobilization.
