Trump postpones tariff hike on Mexican goods

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has persuaded US President Donald Trump to postpone the 25% tariff hike he signed.

Trump wrote about this on his social network.

Mexico will send 10,000 soldiers to the border with the United States, who will primarily stop the flow of fentanyl and illegal immigrants into the United States.

Within a month, Mexico and the United States will hold talks led by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, as well as high-ranking Mexican representatives.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said that this is a "good deal". The country plans to review its own imports and import fewer goods from China. It is expected that these goods will be able to be produced domestically, which will strengthen Mexican industry.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, US President Donald Trump is likely planning to impose tariffs on goods and services imported from the European Union.
