Volgograd refinery and Astrakhan gas processing plant put out of action as result of drone attack - sources

Drones of the Security Service of Ukraine and the Special Operations Forces, which struck the Volgograd refinery and Astrakhan gas processing plant (russia) on the night of Monday, February 3, put them out of action.

This was reported to Ukrainian News Agency by law enforcement sources.

"This night, two russian enterprises received their portion of drone sanctions from the Security Service of Ukraine at once - the Volgograd refinery (Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka) and the Astrakhan gas processing plant. Both affected facilities are large producers of fuel for the russian army. The Volgograd refinery processes almost 6% of all oil in the russian federation, and the Astrakhan gas processing plant is one of the key energy facilities of the russian federation, processing 12 billion tons of gas condensate annually," the sources reported.

According to sources, at the Volgograd plant, SSU and SOF drones destroyed the flare farm, primary processing units No. 2 and No. 3, as well as technological units No. 20 and No. 21.

At the Astrakhan gas processing plant, the gas condensate processing complex was damaged. A fire is ongoing there, the plant's work has been stopped, and workers have been evacuated.

"This is the fifth successful special operation of the SSU since the beginning of the year to destroy the refinery and other russian enterprises that work in the military-industrial complex and produce fuel for the russian army. The drone sanctions policy is proving its effectiveness," an informed source in the SSU notes.

As Ukrainian News Agency reported, earlier, SSU and SOF drones struck the Andreapol NPS and a missile arsenal in the Tver Oblast of the russian federation.
