BGV Group Management testing Ukrainian graphite for lithium-ion batteries

The BGV Group Management team took part in the events of the Ukrainian House in Davos as part of the unofficial program of the World Economic Forum.

This is announced in the company's statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In Davos (Switzerland), BGV Group Management Board Member Serhii Voitsekhovskyi presented two key areas with which the company plans to enter the international CRM market - graphite and beryllium.

It is noted that the BGV investment group shared the status of the flagship graphite mining project - BGV Graphite, which is being implemented on the basis of the Balakhivske deposit.

As of the beginning of 2025, the company successfully completed the preliminary feasibility study (PFS) and pilot technological tests for the final product.

Since the end of 2024, the company Development of Pobuzhzhia (BGV group) has begun basic engineering in partnership with Metso (Finland) for the construction of an enrichment plant.

Design work is also being carried out for the construction of a mining and enrichment complex. Construction work will begin in the first quarter of 2026.

The main advantage of the graphite concentrate, which will be produced on the basis of the Balakhivske deposit, is the high quality of the product with a carbon content in the concentrate of 97%.

For comparison, ordinary concentrates have indicators of up to 95%.

Also in 2024, laboratory and semi-industrial tests were successfully completed on additional purification of graphite to battery quality of 99.99% and the subsequent production of spherical graphite (SPG) from it.

The work was carried out jointly with the German partner ANZAPLAN.

Testing of the obtained anode material in lithium-ion batteries confirmed the highest possible quality of the product.
