U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to strengthen the effectiveness of the Armed Forces, which bans transgender people from serving in the U.S. military.
The relevant documents have been published on the White House website.
The order states that servicemen must be physically and psychologically prepared for military service, which requires them to be focused and maintain a "warrior ethos." Gender ideology activists are not concerned with such requirements of military service as physical and mental health, dedication and unity of units, the document says.
"Consistent with the military mission and longstanding DoD policy, expressing a false “gender identity” divergent from an individual’s sex cannot satisfy the rigorous standards necessary for military service. Beyond the hormonal and surgical medical interventions involved, adoption of a gender identity inconsistent with an individual’s sex conflicts with a soldier’s commitment to an honorable, truthful, and disciplined lifestyle, even in one’s personal life," the order said.
The document also emphasized that the U.S. military is the most effective force in the world, where selfless individuals must serve, ready to fight and win in extraordinary circumstances. Gender violations are inconsistent with the high standards of the U.S. military, the document said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 24, Trump ordered the placement of transgender female prisoners in men's prisons and the cessation of medical treatment related to gender reassignment.
On November 25, the British news portal The Independent stated that Trump wants to release all transgender military personnel in the first days after his inauguration.
