The Cabinet of Ministers has given the green light to e-referrals for military medical examinations (MMEs) for those liable for military service.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"We continue the systematic digitalization of the state. Today we give the "green light" to electronic referrals to the military medical examination for those liable for military service. People will not need to stand in line near territorial recruitment and social support centers to receive the appropriate document. Referrals to the military medical examination can be generated using the Unified State Register of Conscripts and obtained through the Reserve+ application," he said.
Shmyhal noted that, first of all, the option will be available to those who wish to undergo a military medical examination on their own.
He added that people who have received a summons will also need to submit an electronic request for referral so as not to waste time visiting a territorial recruitment and social support center.
On January 23, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced that beta testing of a new service has begun - electronic referrals to the military medical examination in the Reserve+ application.
First of all, citizens will be able to generate referrals if they themselves wish to undergo the military medical examination, but later this opportunity will also appear for people who have received a paper summons to undergo the military medical examination.
According to Umerov, the next step will be the integration of the information systems of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Health, starting from the fall of 2025, in Reserve+ it will be possible to independently choose a medical institution that has a contract with the National Health Service to undergo a fitness examination.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in November, non-affiliated member of the Verkhovna Rada, head of the temporary investigative commission on the investigation of possible violations of the law in the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces Hanna Skorokhod stated that doctors of military medical commissions admitted that they had an instruction "from above" to recognize everyone as fit for military service.
