Russians have discovered almost 20 new sites of fuel oil pollution on Black Sea coast

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the aggressor country of russia announced the discovery of 17 new sites on the Black Sea coast that were contaminated with fuel oil from tankers.

The press service of the russian department reported this on January 26.

According to the russians, the length of the new sites of oil pollution is 63 kilometers. Work to clean up the fuel oil is currently underway there.

The russian emergencies ministry did not specify where exactly the new sites of fuel oil spills on the shore were found: on its territory or also in the occupied Crimea.

The russians claim that since the tanker disaster, 303 kilometers of coastline have allegedly been cleaned and more than 175,000 tons of contaminated soil have been collected.

They also announced the alleged completion of pumping out oil from the tanker Volgoneft 239, which sank in the Kerch Strait. The russians did not report anything about the second vessel.

Recall that on December 15, 2024, the tankers Volgoneft 212 and Volgoneft 239 sank in the Kerch Strait due to a storm. Each vessel was carrying about 4,000 tons of oil products.

Fuel oil from russian tankers entered the Black and Azov Seas. It throws lumps of oil products onto the coast of the Krasnodar Krai of the russian federation and the occupied Crimea.

The day before, the fuel oil from the tankers reached the shores of the Odesa Region, and a large spot of oil products was discovered in the waters of the Sea of ​​Azov, moving towards occupied Berdiansk, Zaporizhzhia Region.

According to the russian authorities, cleaning the Black Sea coast from fuel oil may take at least several years.
