U.S. President Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine and russia Keith Kellogg said that Ukraine lost more soldiers in the russo-Ukrainian war than the U.S. lost during the wars in Vietnam and Korea.
Kellogg said this on Fox News.
He said that in the russo-Ukrainian war, both sides suffered losses in the "hundreds of thousands of victims." He compared the Ukrainian occupied Mariupol, a city of 500,000 people that was completely destroyed by russian troops, with the American Denver.
Under Kellogg's calculations, Ukraine lost more than 80,000 soldiers. Earlier, Kellogg said that russia's losses during the entire full-scale invasion were five times greater than those of Ukraine.
Recall that the war between communist North Vietnam and U.S.-backed South Vietnam lasted from 1959 to 1975. As of July 21, 1953, officially announced U.S. losses were 24,965 soldiers killed, 101,368 wounded, 2,938 captured, 8,476 missing, and 1,125 captured or missing but returned home. According to open sources, 58,000 U.S. soldiers were killed in the Korean War on the U.S. side. The war between communist North and pro-Western South Korea began in 1950. A ceasefire was only achieved in 1953. During this time, more than 5 million people were killed, half of whom were civilians.
Recall that Donald Trump instructed special envoy for Ukraine and russia Keith Kellogg to end russian aggression against Ukraine within 100 days, but he intends to personally supervise the negotiations at all stages.
