Well-known lawyer comments on NABU's attempts to cover up Shabunin: Bureau should be liquidated

Ukrainian lawyer Rostyslav Kravets believes that National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) should be liquidated, since it covers close associates, who destroy the independence and sovereignty of Ukraine.

This is how he reacted to the court's ruling, which overturned the ruling on closing the criminal proceedings against Shabunin.

"NABU operates on the principle of "no case, no trial" when cases concern persons close to it or those who, on the orders of foreigners, destroy the independence and sovereignty of Ukraine and undermine the defense capability. NABU should be liquidated. Ukraine does not need intelligence agencies of other countries," Kravets noted.

He cited the ruling of the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC), which states that in the case of Shabunin, who received financial support and additional remuneration, but did not appear in the military unit, NABU detective Biriukov negligently conducted a pre-trial investigation. In particular, he did not investigate all the signs of criminal offenses. In view of this, the judge canceled the detective's decision to close this criminal proceeding.

Earlier, serviceman Volodymyr Boyko published the details of Shabunin's case. He noted that the command of the Territorial Defense Forces during the inspection revealed that in 2022-2023, a serviceman called up by mobilization to the 207th separate Territorial Defense battalion (military unit A7376), soldier Shabunin, did not appear in his military unit, as he was considered "seconded to the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP)" based on letters from Novikov and Sytnyk. At the same time, Shabunin received not only monetary support, but also an additional reward for performing combat missions in the amount of UAH 30,000 per month, Boyko noted.
