NSDC Center for Countering Disinformation denies allegation that 18-year-olds can be mobilized after completing basic military training

The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) at the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Andrii Kovalenko has denied the information that 18-year-old students can be mobilized after completing basic military training.

He wrote about this on his Telegram channel.

"We have mobilization from the age of 25. Therefore, the mobilization of 18-year-old students after basic military training is impossible in principle. You should not spread unverified information. Up to 25 years of age, you can only voluntarily go, sign a contract," the message says.

We remind you that today, Member of Parliament Dmytro Razumkov stated that students who undergo basic military training during their studies and are then expelled will be able to be mobilized.

"Starting next year, first-year students will undergo basic general military training at universities. And after that, for example, if a person is expelled, he will be mobilized at the age of 19 or 18 and a half," Razumkov said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Reserve+ will resume deferrals for students and postgraduates from January 22.
