Top manager of one of the largest Ukrainian banks, who donated to russian army, detained in Kyiv - SSU

The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) detained in Kyiv the director of the Information Systems Support Department of one of the largest Ukrainian banks, who regularly transferred his money to the needs of the russian army.

This was reported by the official SSU page on the Telegram social network.

The investigation established that after the start of the full-scale war, the man opened an account on one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world.

Later, the defendant transferred funds to the digital wallets of the invaders through this platform, the exact amounts of his donations are being established.

The suspect received information about the collection of money for the needs of the russian army on thematic Telegram channels.

SSU employees documented the official's crimes and detained him at his place of residence in Kyiv.

During a search of the detainee's home, they found a passport of a russian citizen, russian rubles, mobile phones and a computer with evidence of crimes.

Law enforcement officers informed the official of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (aiding an aggressor state).

The perpetrator is being held without bail. He faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
