In the aggressor country of russia, schoolchildren are massively trained to use unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for military purposes. By 2024 alone, russian schools had spent more than RUB 500 million on drones and simulators for training in their control.
This is stated in an investigation by the russian media DOXA.
Journalists analyzed purchases and found that last year educational institutions in 39 regions of the russian federation purchased simulators for controlling UAVs, drone production laboratories and FPV drones, which are actively used in war.
During the year, russian schools spent almost RUB 540 million on the purchase of the above goods. The largest amount was spent in the Saratov Oblast — more than RUB 159 million.
The bulk of the amount was spent on the purchase of equipment for training in piloting and constructing drones.
It is noted that during the purchase of simulators, some educational institutions indicated in tenders that the software should contain virtual tasks for the destruction of Leopard 1 tanks and CAESAR self-propelled howitzers.
Money was also spent on retraining teachers. They were sent to specialized courses. It is known that at least 2,000 teachers have undergone such training.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in September 2024, the first school textbook on assembling drones and teaching how to control them was presented in russia.
Recall, in February 2024, the National Resistance Center reported that the kremlin would send RUB 300 million to each region to organize the production of drones in school labor lessons.
