Air Forces create special commission on transfer of air defense personnel to other troops

The Air Forces have created a special commission that will study cases of transferring air defense personnel to other branches and types of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This is stated in a message of the Air Forces Command on Facebook on Thursday, January 16.

The Air Forces stated that the transfer of specialists could worsen the combat capability of the air defense forces. The special commission was created to prevent the transfer of specialists in scarce specialties to other branches and types of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This primarily concerns specialists who operate and maintain technological aviation equipment, anti-aircraft missile equipment, radio engineering troops, electronic warfare specialists, mobile fire groups, as well as servicemen who have mastered Western weapons abroad.

"Relevant decisions have been made to prevent the transfer of servicemen of scarce specialties to other branches and types of the Armed Forces. Currently, the Air Forces Commission is checking whether there are violations. If such cases are identified, decisions will be made to correct them," the statement says.

After that, the acting commander of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Anatolii Kryvonozhko, stated that the transfers of specialists from the engineering and aviation service, as well as other specialties in short supply in the Air Forces, to units of other branches and types of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not be carried out.

On January 14, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed not to reduce the number of specialists of the Air Forces performing combat missions.
