600,000 russian soldiers fighting in Ukraine, in Ukrainian army - 880,000 - Zelenskyy

Today, 600,000 russian soldiers are fighting in Ukraine, 880,000 in the Ukrainian army.

This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Warsaw during a joint meeting with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and media representatives, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Today, 600,000, a little "plus" of the russian contingent on the territory of our state, maybe a little "minus", depending on how our guys worked today. As for the Ukrainian army, today it is 880,000. But 880,000 are defending the entire territory, russian troops are concentrated in some Axes and therefore they have a quantitative advantage there," he said.

At the same time, Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine supports the idea of deploying military contingents of partners in Ukraine, but it is necessary to understand how many military personnel there will be and what Ukraine's army will be like after the end of the war, in particular in the context of financing.

He called talks about a possible reduction of the Ukrainian army inappropriate.

"When the war ends, we must understand what the contingent of other countries is. We support this idea, but we must understand how much it is. And secondly, we must understand what Ukraine's army will be like, which today really protects not only Ukraine. Therefore, games with messages about reductions... we are not playing this today, because it is such a large army that deters the enemy today," the President noted.

Zelenskyy stressed that the Ukrainian army is currently the only guarantee of Ukraine's security.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Zelenskyy previously supported the idea of deploying military contingents of partners in Ukraine, calling it one of the tools for forcing russia to make peace.
