The Verkhovna Rada allowed sending military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to other states.
This was announced on his Telegram channel by Yaroslav Zhelezniak, MP from the Holos faction, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
A total of 317 MPs voted for bill No. 12378, with the minimum required 226.
Amendments are being made to the laws "On the Armed Forces of Ukraine" and "On the Procedure for Sending Units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to Other States", which stipulate that during the period of martial law, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine may be abroad to ensure security, defense, and repel aggression against Ukraine in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter.
At the same time, it is assumed that the decision to send units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to other states is made by the President of Ukraine with the simultaneous submission to the Verkhovna Rada of a bill on the approval of such a decision.
This procedure is applied, except in cases of use of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of a state carrying out armed aggression against Ukraine, to repel such aggression.
Together with the bill, the President must submit information on the tasks, the total number of the specified units, the type and composition of their weapons, military equipment, subordination, terms of stay and the procedure for their possible extension, the procedure for replacing the personnel of the unit and the procedure for their maintenance.
The provisions of this law, if adopted, will apply to units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that, before the date of entry into force of the Law, were sent to another state and were on its territory in order to carry out measures related to ensuring national security and defense, repelling and deterring armed aggression against Ukraine, protecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada refused to summon the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi due to the situation with the transfer of the Air Force to the infantry.
