Situation near Pokrovsk deteriorating every day, critical infrastructure destroyed - military administration

The security situation in front-line Pokrovsk is deteriorating every day, the intensity and number of shelling is increasing every day.

This was reported by the head of the Pokrovsk City Military Administration, Serhii Dobriak, during a telethon on January 10.

"There is a little more to the outskirts of the city, about a couple of kilometers, let's say, to the nearest point of the outskirts. In principle, our security situation is deteriorating every day, I mean shelling. The intensity and number are increasing every day," he said.

The head of the City Military Administration informed that the russian Armed Forces are hitting Pokrovsk with everything they have. This includes FPV drones and artillery, as well as mortars and guided aerial bombs. Not only the city itself is under attack, but also its outskirts and neighboring villages.

"As for critical infrastructure, it's almost completely destroyed. In some places, we have water distribution points, there are several heating stations. But there is no energy, no gas supply, no large water supply, and of course, there is no heating supply," Dobriak explained.

There is mobile communication in Pokrovsk, but not 24/7. Approximately 7,000 people remain in the city.

"Thank God, there are no children. I thank all the families, who took them out," the head of the administration emphasized.

He called on the rest to evacuate as well. Evacuation in Pokrovsk has slowed down: now 5-10 people are leaving the city per day. Most people are being taken to the Ivano-Frankivsk Region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukrposhta will stop operating in front-line Pokrovsk next week.
