Iryna Farion's daughter, Sofia Osoba, said that she and her children began to be threatened after the opening of a street in honor of her mother near the Lviv Polytechnic.
This is evidenced by court materials, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
From the court materials it can be seen that the victim Sofia Osoba appealed to the court with a request to apply protective measures against her and her family members, since they are in danger from third parties.
She submitted screenshots from social networks, texts that are threatening to the victim and her children.
The prosecutor did not object to the petition to provide protection to the victim.
The victim explained that she received the last posts on social networks on January 1, 2025 during the opening of the Farion Street.
The accused in the murder of Farion, Zinchenko, and his lawyer did not object to the request to provide Farion’s daughter and her children with protection.
However, the defense attorney explained that when making a decision, it is also necessary to take into account whether the victim applied to law enforcement agencies with a relevant application, as well as the lack of evidence that such messages come from the accused and/or at his direction.
The Lviv Court applied security measures to the victim, Sofia, and her two children in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On Ensuring the Security of Persons Participating in Criminal Proceedings" in the form of personal protection, for a period of 2 months - until March 2, 2025 inclusively.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the rector of Lviv Polytechnic Yurii Bobalo reacted to the renaming of Tekhnichna Street to Iryna Farion Street.
