Ukraine to receive 30,000 drones from "drone coalition"

The "drone coalition" led by the United Kingdom and Latvia has placed contracts worth a total of GBP 45 million for the supply of 30,000 unmanned aerial vehicles for the Ukrainian army.

The press service of the British government reported this on January 9.

"The drone coalition supports Ukraine by providing it with surveillance and attack capabilities. The financing of the new 30,000 drones is carried out by the UK, Denmark, the Netherlands, Latvia and Sweden," the British government website says.

It is emphasized that the announcement was made after the UK invested GBP 7.5 million in the general fund of the "drone coalition".

To date, London's total investment in this fund is GBP 15 million. At the same time, together with partners, it was possible to attract 73 million pounds sterling for the needs of the fund.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 18, the UK Ministry of Defense announced that in January 2025, Ukraine will receive tens of thousands of drones within the framework of the "drone coalition" and the "maritime coalition".

Recall that earlier, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal stated that 96% of drones supplied to units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were manufactured by Ukrainian manufacturers.

We also reported that, according to the head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, Ukraine is superior to the russian federation in drone warfare.
