On the night of January 9, russian troops launched a massive attack on Ukraine using 70 Shahed attack drones and simulator drones.
As the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine report on its Telegram channel, aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare (EW) units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces, as well as other Ukrainian Defense Forces were involved in repelling the attack.
The attack was carried out from the directions of russian cities - Millerovo, Oryol, Kursk, Bryansk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
As of 9 a.m., it was confirmed that 46 attack drones had been shot down within the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Mykolaiv Regions.
It is also reported that 24 simulator drones were lost in the field without any negative consequences.
As a result of the falling debris of drones, private houses in the Kharkiv, Sumy and Cherkasy Regions were damaged.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 8 at around 3:40 p.m., the russian occupation army launched a double strike on Zaporizhzhia, hitting the city's industrial infrastructure.
Later, the police reported that the russians used two 500-kilogram FAB-500 bombs to strike Zaporizhzhia. They were released by tactical aircraft of the russian army and hit a crowd of people.
