US President-elect Donald Trump said that he had spoken to Chinese leader Xi Jinping through his representatives and believes in the possibility of further understanding with the Chinese leader.
This was reported by Reuters on January 6.
"We've talked. We've talked through our representatives," Trump said in an interview with conservative talk show host Hugh Hewitt.
He described Xi Jinping as "a strong and powerful man who is revered in China."
"And I think we will probably get along very well. But you know, it’s got to be a two-way street," Trump said, emphasizing that, in his opinion, China is "ripping off" the United States economically.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the United States Congress officially confirmed Donald Trump's victory in the 2024 presidential election. Trump will be sworn in on January 20, after which he will officially be considered the 47th President of the United States.
