Air defense downs 28 enemy UAVs at night, 10 drones lost in location

Overnight into Tuesday, January 7, russian troops launched 38 Shahed attack UAVs and simulator drones over the territory of Ukraine, air defense forces managed to shoot down 28 drones, another 10 UAVs did not reach their targets (lost in location).

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

It is noted that on the night of January 7 (from 07:30 p.m. on January 6), the enemy attacked with 38 Shahed attack UAVs and simulator drones of various types from the directions of Millerovo, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (all - russian federation).

"As of 09:00 a.m., it has been confirmed that 28 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of drones have been shot down in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Mykolaiv, Kherson and Kirovohrad Regions. No hits were recorded," the report says.

It also reports that 10 enemy simulator drones were lost in location (without negative consequences), three of them flew in the direction of russia.

Previously, there were no casualties or injuries.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of Monday, January 6, russian troops launched two Kh-59 guided aircraft missiles and 128 Shahed attack UAVs and drone simulators over the territory of Ukraine. Air defense forces managed to shoot down 2 missiles and 79 drones, and another 49 UAVs did not reach their targets (lost in location).
