Zelenskyy says Trump did not invite him to inauguration, and he cannot come to visit without invitation

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he did not receive an invitation to the inauguration of the newly elected President Donald Trump, which will take place on January 20 in the United States.

He stated this in an interview with American podcaster Lex Fridman.

During the conversation, Fridman invited Zelenskyy to come to the inauguration of the President of the United States.

"I would like to. Of course, I will look at what is happening with us now, because there are difficult moments, escalation, a lot of missiles, etc. But, honestly, I cannot come, especially during a war, if President Trump does not directly invite me. It is simply not nice," the President said.

Zelenskyy added that he cannot come to visit without an invitation.

"I know that in general, leaders are not invited to the inauguration of US presidents. I know that there are leaders who can come on their own. They will come if they want to. I know the temperament of some such people. They can come on their own. But for me it is very, very difficult. I am such a person, you know, I cannot visit without an invitation, - explained the head of the Ukrainian state," Zelenskyy concluded.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, American blogger Lex Fridman recorded a 3-hour podcast with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
