This was stated by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken during a visit to South Korea. His words are quoted by the Barron's publication with reference to AFP on Monday, January 6.
Blinken noted that the administration of current US President Joe Biden wants to provide Ukraine with as much assistance as possible to resist russian aggression.
"Their position in Kursk is important, because, of course, this is something that will be taken into account in any negotiations that may take place next year," the US Secretary of State said.
According to Blinken, the imperial ambitions of the russian dictator remain, and putin seeks to rest, re-equip his army and attack again. The US Secretary of State called for "adequate deterrence" so that russia could not do this. Even if the talks take place, Ukraine will still need "adequate security guarantees" from putin, Blinken stressed.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 5, the media reported a new offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in certain areas of the Kursk Oblast of the aggressor country, russia.
This information was later confirmed by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andrii Kovalenko.
