Negotiations on ending the war between russia and Ukraine should begin with US President Donald Trump and European leaders, and only then with russian president vladimir putin.
This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in a podcast by the American journalist of Ukrainian origin Lex Fridman, which was published on Sunday, January 5.
Zelenskyy noted that he "would not mind meeting with Trump immediately after his inauguration, for example, on his birthday on January 25".
"We must sit down with Trump and agree on how we can stop putin," the President of Ukraine explained.
Also, according to Zelenskyy, the next step for Ukraine should be to receive support from Europe. He expressed confidence that this will happen quickly, since "Europe is listening to Trump".
"I can already see that when we talk about something with Trump, all European leaders ask: 'So how did the conversation go?' This, by the way, speaks of Donald Trump's influence. Previously, there was no such attitude towards the American President," Zelenskyy said.
"And having already received strong security guarantees from the US and Europe, Ukraine is ready to talk to russia," the head of state explained.
