The offer to donate 1 hryvnia from each parcel is voluntary. This is how Ukrposhta CEO Ihor Smilianskyi responded to the reproaches of European Solidarity MP Nina Yuzhanina regarding forced charitable contributions.
"We have added the opportunity to donate (voluntarily) UAH 1 from each parcel. Even the tariffs have been thought out in such a way that, conditionally, when delivering UAH 79, you add UAH 1 as a donation and pay UAH 80. Please note: the donation is voluntary. And so, when you send 50 million parcels, we will collect UAH 50 million for the Armed Forces of Ukraine," he wrote on the Telegram channel.
Yuzhanina also accused Ukrposhta of cooperating with the KSE Foundation, whose president is Tymofii Milovanov, the former Minister of Economy (2019-2020) and a freelance advisor to the head of the President's Office, Andrii Yermak.
"In the same post, Ms. Yuzhanina says that UAH 50 million collected for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, bomb shelters, shelters and hospitals (UAH 1 from each parcel) are the income of the KSE Foundation and, according to the post, T. Milovanov personally. Well, if the funds collected for charitable purposes = the income of the charitable foundation, then I think it's time to check whether Mrs. Yuzhanina's higher education diplomas are valid," writes Smilianskyi.

Smilianskyi explained that Ukrposhta does not have the right to engage in charitable activities (according to the charter).
"Whether it's right or not, it's true. However, we cannot stand aside when we can raise funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. That is why the format of cooperation with the KSE Foundation was chosen. All funds are immediately transferred to the foundation. And the foundation helps in purchasing everything necessary. Moreover, the foundation takes on all checks, administration and audit," the CEO explained.
He added that all funds that pass through Ukrposhta and the KSE Foundation are carefully checked by international auditors and law enforcement officers.
Recall that Ukrposhta changed its parcel delivery tariffs from January 1.
