The Armed Forces of Ukraine went on the offensive in several sections of the front in the Kursk Oblast of russia.
The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council Andrii Kovalenko has reported this.
According to him, the Defense Forces are currently working on developing the offensive.
"The Russians in the Kursk Oblast are experiencing great anxiety, because they were attacked in several directions, and this came as a surprise to them. The Defense Forces are working," noted Kovalenko.
Head of the Presidential Office Andrii Yermak also confirmed the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast. He noted that the russians are getting what they deserve.
"Kursk Oblast, good news, Russia is getting what it deserves," he said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a military operation in the Kursk Oblast of the russian federation on August 6 and seized about 1,300 sq. km in the first weeks. According to the OSINT project DeepState, as of mid-December, 496 sq. km remained under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The kremlin stated that it would not negotiate with Ukraine until the Kursk Oblast was liberated from the Ukrainian army.
Earlier it was reported that the United States saw the inability of the russian army to drive the Armed Forces of Ukraine out of the Kursk Oblast before spring.
