US won't have time to deliver all military aid to Ukraine by Trump's inauguration – Pentagon Spokesperson Sing

The U.S. Department of Defense has said it will not be able to deliver all the promised aid to Ukraine by January 20, the day of the inauguration of the U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. However, the aid will continue to arrive after that.

On December 30, current U.S. President Joe Biden announced a new USD 2.5 billion aid package. It includes USD 1.25 billion in military aid taken from U.S. stocks and a USD 1.22 billion package from the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI).

Asked whether all the new aid would be fully delivered to Ukraine by the end of the current administration's term on January 20, Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh explained that "capabilities and equipment” contained within PDAs "[flow] off our shelves as [they're] available."

"[Therefore,] it's very likely that you are going to see more capabilities continue to flow to Ukraine post-this administration; that's very normal," Singh said.

She also said that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin plans to travel to Germany on January 7 for the 25th Ramstein meeting. Austin's participation in the meeting, she said, is to "reaffirm our enduring commitment to Ukraine."
