It is reported that a meteor shower is a phenomenon when the Earth crosses a plume of dust and particles left by a comet or asteroid, which causes the formation of bright traces in the atmosphere.
This stream can be seen today, January 3, in the direction of the constellation of Boötes. If the weather conditions are favorable, you can see up to 110 meteors per hour. The best time for observation is after midnight.
"The meteors fly between the constellations of Boötes and Draco, near the handle of the Big Dipper. The Quadrantids are known for their "fireball" meteors. They are longer and brighter than regular meteors because they come from larger fragments," the report says.
Recall that previously, from December 17 to 24, the Ursid meteor shower was active. During this period, up to 10 meteors per hour can be observed in the night sky, especially on the peak night of December 23.
