The aggressor state of russia plans to transfer military equipment and weapons from Syria to Libya. In the city of Tartus (Syria), the enemy is waiting for cargo ships for transportation.
This was reported by the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Thus, it is indicated that at the naval base in the Syrian city of Tartus, the russians are waiting for their warships to transfer military equipment and weapons. In particular, mercenaries of the African Corps of the aggressor state controlled by the Ministry of Defense of russia are located on the territory of the base.
On January 5, 2025, the russian large landing ships Ivan Gren and Alexander Otrakovsky, as well as the dry cargo ship Sparta are planned to arrive in the Syrian port - they are currently on the way to Tartus in the Mediterranean Sea.
According to intelligence, the Otrakovsky is carrying the chief of staff of the 121st brigade of landing ships of the aggressor state fleet of russia, Captain 1st Rank Davityan Yuri Albertovich.
In addition, two more russian ships are scheduled to enter Tartus on January 8, 2025 - the universal cargo ship Sparta II and the tanker Ivan Skobelev, which are currently planning to cross the Strait of Gibraltar.
"The russians plan to use the cargo ships Sparta and Sparta II to transport military equipment and weapons from Syria to Libya. Another russian warship from the operational formation of the russian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea - the frigate Admiral Golovko - plans to refuel," the report says.
It is noted that in the meantime, armored personnel carriers, probably exported from Syria, were unloaded at one of the airfields in the Vladimir Oblast of russia.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, at the end of December, the russian merchant ship Ursa Major sank in the Mediterranean Sea in international waters between Águilas (Spain) and Oran (Algeria).
