The daughter of the murdered professor of the Lviv Polytechnic Iryna Farion is asking the President, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada and the Prime Minister to deal with the scandalous sketch of the Kvartal 95, in which her family was insulted.
She wrote about this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"I am addressing you with deep sorrow regarding the shameful case of mockery of the memory, honor and dignity of the Doctor of Philology, Professor, MP from the All-Ukrainian Union Svoboda of the 7th convocation, professional and intellectual figure of the Ukrainian educational, cultural and political-nationalist movement Iryna Farion, who was brutally murdered on July 19, 2024 in Lviv. Iryna Farion is one of the key figures who dedicated her life to the promotion of the Ukrainian language and cultural identity. Her contribution to linguistics and public activity is difficult to overestimate. She has become a symbol of the struggle for the preservation and development of the Ukrainian language in a world where our national values are often silenced or devalued," Farion's daughter wrote.
She noted that despite this, she witnessed the facts of repeated humiliation of her honor and memory, which is unacceptable in a legal and democratic state.
"The 1+1 TV channel broadcast a repeat of the New Year's edition of the program Vechirniy Kvartal [Evening Quarter] 2024, which is also permanently freely available on the YouTube channel of the Studio Kvartal 95. There is also a video mocking Iryna Farion, which was posted on the official YouTube channel of the Studio Kvartal 95 after her murder. Iryna Farion's tireless work for the benefit of the development of the Ukrainian language and culture, her active position in protecting national interests deserve worthy honor, and not to be covered in such a shameful context," the daughter is confident.
She emphasized that dancing on bones is not funny, but low and cynical, and those who try to denigrate Iryna Farion harm the people of Ukraine and must bear responsibility for it.
"As the widow of a heroic fallen soldier of the Moscow-Ukrainian war, I demand from the team of Kvartal 95 not only a public apology, but also the removal of all offensive materials about my mother from the public space and the prevention of such shameful incidents in the future," Sofia added.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Farion's daughter was offended that she didn't hear Zelenskyy's apology for sketch of Kvartal 95 during the New Year's greeting.
