Intensive fighting continues in the village of Novovasylivka, located south of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk Region. Russian troops, having a numerical advantage, are actively conducting assaults.
According to DeepState, on December 30-31 and January 1, russian forces carried out offensive actions on Novovasylivka from the southern and eastern directions. The assaults are carried out mainly by infantry units, sometimes with the support of armored vehicles and light artillery tanks.
"The situation is such that the enemy is in every corner of the village, as well as the Defense Forces. In fact, in one house there may be ours, and in the neighboring ones there may be the enemy. The tactical situation is at the level of chaos, but the enemy's superiority in manpower may become a decisive factor, unfortunately," DeepState analysts note.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, analysts of the Ukrainian OSINT project DeepState claim that the russian occupation army has advanced near three settlements in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove Axes.
