Overnight into January 2, the aggressor state of russia launched 72 drones over Ukraine. Air defense forces destroyed 47 UAVs, another 24 were lost in location.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Thus, from 07:00 p.m. on January 1 to the night of January 2, the enemy attacked with 72 attack UAVs of the Shahed type and drones of other types from the directions of Bryansk, Oryol, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk - the russian federation.
It is indicated that the air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
As of 08:30 a.m., it was confirmed that 47 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of UAVs were shot down in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Kherson and Mykolaiv Regions.
"Due to the active countermeasures of the Defense Forces, 24 enemy simulator UAVs were lost in location (without negative consequences). One UAV is in the air!" - the message says.
