Occupiers trying to cross Oskil, but AFU thwarting their attempts to cross river

Russian occupiers are attempting to cross the Oskil River in the west of the Kharkiv Region. The Ukrainian military is preventing them from doing so.

Andrii Rubtsov, an officer of the 116th separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, stated this during a telethon, as quoted by RBC-Ukraine.

According to him, the russians are using inflatable boats to ferry soldiers in order to gain a foothold on the opposite bank of the river.

"Considering that our UAV pilots are actively working, their attempts remain unsuccessful," Rubtsov said.

The officer added that Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance is detecting russian attempts to cross the river, and strike drone operators are striking the russian landing force.

According to the interactive map of the analytical project DeepState, the russians allegedly control some of the positions on the right bank of the Oskil River.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, at the end of November 2024, the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Troops Group stated that the russians had failed to cross the Oskil River.

And on December 3, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Ukrainian military had eliminated the russian bridgehead they had created on the right bank of the Oskil River.
