The excise tax on fuel will increase in January, which will affect prices at gas stations.
This follows from the relevant legislation, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Earlier, experts predicted that prices at gas stations could increase by UAH 1.5-2 by the end of January.
According to the schedule of successive rate increases provided for by law, excise duty rates on gasoline will increase as follows:
- from September 1, 2024 - to EUR 242.6 per 1,000 liters,
- from 2025 - to EUR 271.70 per 1,000 liters,
- from 2026 - to EUR 300.80 per 1,000 liters,
- from 2027 - to EUR 329.90 per 1,000 liters,
- from 2028 - to EUR 359 per 1,000 liters.
For diesel fuel:
- from September 1, 2024 - to EUR 177.6 per 1,000 liters,
- from 2025 - to EUR 215.70 per 1,000 liters,
- from 2026 - to EUR 253.8 per 1,000 liters,
- from 2027 - to EUR 291.9 per 1,000 liters,
- from 2028 - to EUR 330 per 1,000 liters.
For liquefied gas (propane or a mixture of propane and butane):
- from September 1, 2024 - to EUR 148 per 1,000 liters,
- from 2025 - to EUR 173 per 1,000 liters,
- from 2026 - to EUR 198 per 1,000 liters,
- from 2027 - to 223 EUR per 1,000 liters,
- from 2028 - to EUR 250 per 1,000 liters.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, since July 2023, the excise tax and value added tax (VAT) on fuel have returned to pre-war levels, in particular, the excise tax on gasoline increased 2.1 times, from EUR 100 per 1,000 liters to EUR 213.5 per 1,000 liters, the excise tax on diesel fuel - by 39.5%, from EUR 100 per 1,000 liters to EUR 139.5 per 1,000 liters, and the VAT rate - from 7% to 20%.
