The Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully repelled a massive attack by russian drones on Wednesday night, destroying all 111 launched drones of various types, the Command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
According to the military, the enemy used strike drones launched from four directions - from the territory of the russian federation (Bryansk, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk) and temporarily occupied Crimea.
All components of the air defense were involved in repelling the attack: aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups.
"63 strike UAVs of the Shahed type and drones of other types were destroyed over ten regions of Ukraine, including the Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv and other regions," the Air Forces said in a statement.
It is noteworthy that 46 drone simulators were neutralized by electronic warfare without the use of fire. Two drones, due to active countermeasures, changed course towards the territory of russia and Belarus.
In the capital, a residential building in two districts of the city was damaged by falling debris from downed drones. According to the Kyiv City State Administration, six people were injured.
