From 2025, Ukrainians will need a special ETIAS permit (European Travel Information System) to travel to European Union countries.
This is reported by Etias.com.
What is ETIAS?
ETIAS is an electronic permit that allows citizens of visa-free countries, including Ukraine, to stay in EU countries for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
How to get a permit?
To obtain ETIAS, Ukrainians must:
- Fill out an online application.
- Pay a fee of EUR 7.
- Wait for a decision, which is usually made automatically within a few minutes.
Countries covered by the permit:
ETIAS covers 30 countries, including EU Member States (except Ireland), as well as non-EU Schengen countries (Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, etc.).
This permit is being introduced to strengthen security in the EU. The ETIAS system will allow for control of entry into Europe and reduce the risks of illegal migration or security threats.
Ukrainians are advised to familiarize themselves with the authorization rules in advance to avoid difficulties when planning their travel.
Recall that it was previously reported that for all citizens whose countries have a visa-free regime with the EU, entry will be subject to a fee.
