Air defense forces shoot down 6 enemy missiles and 16 Shaheds

On the night of Tuesday, December 31, russian troops launched 21 missiles of various types and 40 drones over the territory of Ukraine, air defense forces shot down 6 missiles and 16 Shaheds, while 24 drones were lost in location.

The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News agency reports.

It is noted that on the night of December 31 (from 8:30 p.m. on December 30), the enemy used 61 means of air attack:

- 6 ballistic missiles Iskander-M / KN-23 from the Voronezh Oblast (russia);

- 1 aeroballistic missile Kh-47M2 Kinzhal from a MiG-31K fighter from the airspace of the Tula Oblast (russia);

- 6 Kh-69 guided aerial missiles from tactical aircraft from the airspace of the Belgorod Oblast (russian federation);

- 8 Kh-22 cruise missiles from Tu-22M3 aircraft from the airspace of the Tula Oblast (russian federation);

- 40 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of simulator UAVs from the directions of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Bryansk and Millerovo (all - russian federation).

"As a result of combat work, units of the anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces shot down: 1 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missile; 5 Kh-69 guided aerial missiles; 16 Shahed attack UAVs, another 24 simulator UAVs of various types were lost in location (without negative consequences)," the message says.

The Air Forces noted that the russian attack resulted in ballistic hits in the Sumy and Kyiv Regions.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of December 30, the russians launched 43 drones over the territory of Ukraine, air defense forces shot down 21 drones, and another 22 UAVs did not reach their targets.
