Applications for gas transit from russia to Europe via Ukraine remain stable during week – Gazprom

Applications for pumping gas produced in the terrorist country of russia to Europe via Ukraine remained stable during the penultimate week of December.

Reuters reported this with reference to Gazprom's statements.

According to the data provided, these figures ranged from 41 to 43 million m³.

"Gas transit from Russia to Europe remains at a stable level, despite the cessation of supplies to the Austrian OMV, which was the largest buyer of gas on this route, on November 16," the russian hydrocarbon monopoly noted.

"The volume of gas leaving Ukraine for Slovakia remains stable for now," according to data from the gas transmission network operator Eustream.

"Before the cessation of supplies, Austria received 17 million m³ per day, and now these volumes are finding new buyers in Europe, who are buying up unsold gas," the companies and sources reported.

In May 2022, Ukraine stopped receiving transit gas through the Sokhranivka station, citing force majeure and proposing to transfer all transit volumes to Sudzha.

In September 2022, pumping along the main route for supplying russian gas to Europe, the Nord Stream pipeline, was completely stopped.

The transit of russian gas through Poland to Germany via the Yamal-Europe pipeline, which carried up to 15% of Gazprom's export supplies to Europe and Turkey, was suspended in 2022 after the russian federation imposed sanctions in response to the actions of the Polish owner of the gas pipeline.

According to the Ukrainian GTS operator, in 2023, russian gas transit through Ukraine decreased by 28.5% to 14.65 billion m³ from 20.5 billion m³ in 2022.
