Romania said that its air defenses did not record the entry of a russian missile into its airspace during a massive strike on Ukraine on the night of Wednesday, December 25.
This was stated by the representative of the Romanian Ministry of Defense, Constantin Spinu, for Digi24.
According to him, the Ukrainian side informed Romania about the flight of a russian missile through Moldovan airspace at around 7:30 a.m., after which it was in the area of the city of Darabani "for about two minutes."
"According to the monitoring data of Romanian air surveillance systems and data provided by NATO countries' means that supplement the monitoring, the crossing of Romanian airspace in Romania's area of responsibility was not confirmed," the representative concluded.
Recall that during the massive missile attack on December 25, one russian missile crossed the airspace of four countries. The missile, which was launched from russian territory, initially headed through southern Ukraine, flew 140 km through the airspace of Moldova and Romania, and then returned to the territory of Ukraine.
